Traffic Update on John CHow’s Review Linkback

As I promised here is an update of what efect John Chow’s linkback from his Review batch 75 has generated. Although it’s quite difficult to give an exact result after 24 hours and 48 hours due to different time zones, I have recieved 9 visitors on the first day of his post and 8 visitors on the second with an average of 2.12 pages visited and 2.13 minutes.

Tomorrow I’ll be able to give a final 72 hour update and try and make a final evaluation, but obiviously baring in mind the thousands of readers he has the actual readers that click the links and check out the other sites are quite small. Seems like most are too busy spamming. The only positive point I can put my fingers on at first glance is a link from a PR 6 site, but as far as links are concerened the Viralink scheme is bringing me far more links and visitors and is proving a big success.

Hi Steve,

I had the magic linkback from Mr Chow too (batch 73 I think) and had similar results. A few people left comments though and I think some added me to their RSS reader so that was nice. I’ve seen the Viralink scheme and I wasn’t going to do it, but if you say it works I’ll give it a go.

I only got about 25 visitors total when I did his little linkbait. What’s sad is that you actually don’t get a PR6 link, you get a PR0 link because almost all of the batches on his site end up on PR0 pages.

I have used this linkback offer for other sites in the past, and it has proven somewhat successful. He recently included one of my articles in a post http://www.johnchow.com/thursday-happenings-on-the-net/ and I had better results. It is too soon to know what, if any, the PR implications will be.
