How My Traffic Increased 100% Through MyBlogLog

Yesterday was my blog’s busiest day for traffic, MyBlogLog members and comments. I actually got more than double the previous days unique visitors. At first I thought it was just down to luck, but then I realised that wotZcool was listed as one of the 6 Hottest Blogs along with Jemmille , 43 Folders , LifeHacker or Just A Girl In Short Shorts to name the other blogs I remember. My bet is Just A Girl got the most hits (Check out The Wrong Advices article on the advantages of being a girl on MyBlog) but it’s a cool and well worked blog with lots of content.

I don’t know what criteria MyBlogLog uses to decide which blogs are hot, quite possibly it’s down to pure luck, but anyway, I’ll be remaining active in the hope I’m hot again.

I wondered what happened. Yesterday wasn’t any busier on my blog than usual–but there was a whole lot of MyBlogLog activity. I thought it might be the hot blog list–but the listing was gone when I went to check.

This has happened before–there is a big increase in your “community” and you discover new people and blogs–but the the overall net effect on daily traffic is rather small.

I wish I would have seen my icon when it was in the “Hot Communities” section. That makes me wonder if it has been there before. Who knows but thanks for pointing this out!

Congratulations! I haven’t made it to hot communities yet but every time I’m a hot member I receive double the mybloglog traffic. You gotta love mybloglog.

It looks like the blogs are deemed hot by the traffic going to them via clicks, contacts and community joins.
I get the feeling that mybloglog is going to be the next MySpace with people adding and joining for self promotional reasons…
