April Overview
May 2nd, 2007 by Steve Sandells
April was my first full month up and running with various acheivements and results. I was accepted for Google Adsense, accepted for Kontera and also signed up for various affiliate schemes all with varied results.
During April I made a total of 33 posts with 41 comments from readers, which as far as the posting rate is concerened I feel reasonably happy. I guess to get comments you need to get your readers more involved and thats where I need to try and better myself. Readers getting involved means a blog where people return and becomes a blog with life.
I installed Google Analytics on the 16th of April, and have been able to track 565 visits with 1063 page views. Thats an average of around 40 visits per day the high point being April 18th when I was on MyBlogLog as one of the hottest communities.
I started doing Blog reviews and also opened a category for Guest Blogger’s to be able to submit an article with the aim to increase linkbacks between wotZcool and the guest blogger sites. I have received a few bloggers interested in posting an article, and shortly will be posting the first one. For this section to work properly it is very important that the Guest Blogger articles be unique not copies of article already published. The aim is to link blog’s through interesting posts that cause readers to go from one blog to another.
As far as Technorati rankings go, I’ve currently got 12 links from 10 blogs with a ranking of 485,674. I obviously need this to increase for my blog to become more valuable to advertisers. I was turned down by ReviewMe and TextLinks basically due to lack of sufficient traffic. I didn’t even have a PageRank then. In the recent PageRank update I was given a PR 2 status. A longway from sites like John Chow (PR 6) and Kumiko’s Cash Quest (PR 5) but, what the heck, I’ve only been running just over a month.
Earnings to date on wotZcool are as follows:
Adsense $10.55 with an eCPM of $5.77
Kontera $0.14
Affiliates $0.00
Total $10.69
Ok, I can’t retire yet, nor think of selling my blog, so I’ll keep writing, keep socializing, keep commenting of other’s blog’s and beginning of June I’ll update again. Maybe by then I’ll be accepted by ReviewMe and TextLinks.
If You Like wotZcool, I'd Be Happy To Drink Another "Bud" To Your Health... Thanks

This all just sounds too much like work. I rather just write my logs and enjoy myself in the process.
Yeah, it maybe does sound like work, but it’s what I’m enjoying. I’ve said many times that blogging is about enjoying yourself, if you don’t then you’re better off doing something else. I get a lot of satisfacion trying to develop the blog, writing articles and later seeing how people react. All the statistics are a guide to how well I’m developing the blog.
Thanks for your comment, hope you keep coming back.
Serious bloggers put some serious work into their blogs, and it does pay off. I started blogging in January, figured out what blogging was in March, and now I’m earning a weekly income that grows each darn week. It’s awesome. Just remember those same people who reject you in the beginning will be your pay check down the road. It just takes some time and effort.
Great music by the way, I love it.
Adsense is really a great programme.Sometimes the click worth more than $2.00.I think you should try your hand in BIDVERTISER also. I signed up for Ads-click(http://ads-click.com/)yesterday.So don’t know much about them but whatever,we are here to earn money.
